RANAU: A man was seriously injured after his Proton Saga was involved in an accident and caught fire during an evening drive, near here, on Monday.

Fire and Rescue Department Chief Rantey Fred said the incident happened in Batu 3, Jalan Ranau-Kundasang main road, at 6.40pm.

“When we arrived at the scene located 3km from the station, we found a Proton Saga that was 90pc burnt. The Fire Department conducted an extinguishing operation.

“One victim had injuries and was sent to the Ranau Hospital for further treatment,” he said.
