PENAMPANG: Police arrested five men and seized items linked to a house break-in involving an unoccupied home under renovation here, with losses estimated at about RM10,000.
Penampang district police chief Supt Sammy Newton said the arrests were made after the Criminal Investigation Division raided a house in Putatan following a tip-off.

The suspects, aged between 26 and 31, include one man with prior records for housebreaking and drug offences. Initial urine screening found two of them positive for drugs.
All suspects are being held at the Penampang police lock-up for investigation under Section 457 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to 14 years, and may also include a fine or whipping upon conviction.
