 Two held, Syabu seized in Lahad Datu
The two suspects arrested  for drug offences.
LAHAD DATU: Police arrested two men and seized more than 10 grammes of drugs believed to be Syabu following Op Tapis in Jalan Lahad Datu-Tungku on Wednesday.

District Police Chief ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail said the duo were detained by the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division at about 10.50am at the rest area in front of a cemetery staff house on Jalan Lahad Datu-Tungku.

He said an inspection on one of the suspects led to the discovery of an envelope containing drugs believed to be Syabu weighing 10.35 grammes, while an inspection on the other suspect found no illegal items on him.

However, urine tests conducted on both suspects found that both were positive for drug use.

The suspects and the seized drugs, estimated to be worth RM1,138.50, were taken to the Lahad Datu Police Headquarters for investigation under Section 39A(1) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Dzulbaharin added that the operation reflected the continuous commitment of the Lahad Datu Police Headquarters in combating drug-related criminal activities in the district.
