Kota Kinabalu: Twenty-six fourth-year Electrical Technology students from Keningau Vocational College (KVC) recently carried out a community service project at Bondulu Toboh Children’s Home in Tambunan.

About 60 children at the home took part in demonstrations on basic electrical repair, maintenance and installation, including lights and household appliances such as fans.

The community project, known as “Volt Prihatin”, allowed students to apply the skills they learned at college while helping the community.

Activities included teaching basic light bulb and socket installation, repairing electrical fittings and appliances, and improving lighting in several areas, including the outdoor compound.

The project was led by Electrical Technology instructor Haini Kotin.

Deputy Director of Academic Affairs Amirul Ahuar Abdullah also joined the visit and presented donations to the home and its residents.

College Director Lumang anak Lang thanked the students and lecturers for their commitment, saying the project demonstrated how vocational education not only prepares students for employment but also encourages them to contribute positively to society.
