KUCHING: Sabah-based environmental consultancy Waig Consultancy Sdn Bhd was named among five national winners of the Shell LiveWire 2025 Malaysia programme announced here on Saturday.
The firm, which specialises in hydraulic and coastal modelling, received RM30,000 to support its work in promoting sustainable design and providing practical, eco-friendly solutions for infrastructure projects in Sabah.
Other national winners were Earthlings Coffee, Lariss Quna Enterprise and Lettuboost from Sarawak, as well as Rebooz from Peninsular Malaysia.
National finalists from Sabah included Crates Studio, Live2Learn Ideas, Nella Odella and Rafa F&B Enterprise, selected from more than 60 participants in the LiveWire Sabah 2025 programme.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof said entrepreneurs today were problem solvers, job creators and nation builders whose creative and innovative ideas were shaping solutions that fuel economic growth and social progress.
He said the government’s efforts to build a strong ecosystem were strengthened through collaboration between public institutions, private enterprises and entrepreneurs, and commended Shell Malaysia for its continued commitment to nurturing entrepreneurship through the programme.
Shell Malaysia country chair and Upstream Malaysia senior vice president Siti Sulaiman said Shell LiveWire was central to the company’s efforts to empower entrepreneurs to turn ideas into impactful businesses addressing social and economic challenges.
She said the 2025 programme involved 180 entrepreneurs nationwide, from which 15 finalists were selected, reflecting the talent, innovation and resilience of Malaysian entrepreneurs.
