SANDAKAN: Musketeers Football Academy, in collaboration with a local university in Sabah, will conduct grassroots football player profiling focusing on athlete development and physical fitness.
The initiative coincides with the implementation of Sulam – Service Learning Malaysia: University for Society by Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) through the Sulam-Peak 2026 initiative.
The programme, which involves systematic performance assessment and sports science knowledge transfer with the local sporting community, will be held at the Sandakan Sports Complex this Saturday and Sunday (Jan 10 and 11).
The programme is carried out through a strategic collaboration with Musketeers Football Academy, Sandakan, with an emphasis on grassroots athlete performance development based on scientific approaches and community-based learning.
Musketeers Football Academy President Hardy Pudar said the objectives of the Sulam-Peak programme include providing systematic performance and fitness assessments for athletes, and also aims to enhance basic sports science knowledge among athletes and coaches, while offering UMS students valuable community-based learning experience.
In addition, the initiative will produce athlete performance profiles to support both short- and long-term training planning, as well as strengthen collaborative networks between UMS and the local sports community.
The two-day programme targets football players aged between 13 and 15, as well as stakeholders including parents and athletes. Several performance assessments will be conducted throughout the programme.
