Alan Vest, former Sarawak football coach, passes away at age 86
The English-born Australian, who helmed the state team from 1992 to 1998, is widely credited as the driving force behind Sarawak’s rise to national prominence.
KUCHING: Former Sarawak head coach Alan Vest, who guided the Crocs through their golden era in the 1990s, passed away today at the age of 86.

As of press time, no official statement has been issued on his passing. However, several former players and supporters have taken to social media to express their condolences and share fond memories of the legendary coach.

The English-born Australian, who helmed the state team from 1992 to 1998, is widely credited as the driving force behind Sarawak’s rise to national prominence.

Under his leadership, the Crocs captured the 1992 FA Cup, the 1997 Malaysia Premier League title — then the country’s top-tier competition — and the 1998 Charity Shield.
