KOTA KINABALU: A p-hailing rider is expected to be out of work for several weeks after possibly fracturing his right leg in a collision with a car along Jalan Bunga Raja Kayu at around 7pm Tuesday.
The rider, in his late 20s, was found lying on his back in the middle of the road as fellow motorcyclists formed a protective barrier with their vehicles until an ambulance arrived. A pool of blood was visible beneath his right hand.

Items from his delivery bag were scattered across the street, causing several road users to make U-turns to avoid the congestion.
The 52-year-old car driver, who was returning home to Kepayan after picking up his son from basketball practice at KK High School, claimed the motorcyclist suddenly veered from the opposite lane, resulting in the collision.
The car’s right front wheel was badly damaged in the crash rendering it immobile.
This was not the first incident on the same stretch of road.
In August, another p-hailing rider, 27, was involved in a similar accident at noon but managed to walk away.
Motorists are urged to exercise extra caution, especially during rainy weather.
