TAWAU: A security guard suspected of committing domestic violence was arrested last Friday at a plantation worker’s house on Jalan Bukit Quoin, here, to assist in investigations.
The incident reportedly erupted after the man allegedly became angry when his wife confronted him over his unfaithful behaviour, as he was said to have a mistress.

Tawau District Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the suspect, a 45-year-old foreign national, was arrested following a complaint from his 43-year-old wife, a homemaker.
“We received a report from the victim on Friday at about 10.55am at the Bandar Sri Indah police station, a day after the incident, before an operation to track the suspect was launched,” he said.
Jasmin said according to the victim’s statement, the incident occurred around 4.30pm at the couple’s residence, during which the woman was physically assaulted by her husband.
The victim reportedly sustained injuries on both arms, prompting her decision to file a police report.
“A team from the District Criminal Investigation Division (BSJD), led by Operations Chief Inspector Kasinam Kadri, tracked and arrested the suspect at his residence around 3pm,” he said.
The investigation is being conducted under Section 323 of the Penal Code (voluntarily causing hurt) and Section 18A of the Domestic Violence Act 1994 (protection orders and criminal provisions under the Penal Code).
