“Sabah is not only a tourism destination, but also has strong potential for eco-tourism, biotechnology, and related industries. It can serve as a bridge for Chinese enterprises entering Asean and global markets,” he said.
In his keynote address, Datuk Frankie highlighted Malaysia’s ongoing technological transformation, driven by artificial intelligence (AI) and digitalisation.
“The government has identified AI, semiconductors, and digital infrastructure as three key development pillars.
“‘Made by Malaysia’ is expected to become synonymous with high quality, innovation, and sustainable development,” he said.
He also emphasised Malaysia’s focus on AI healthcare, smart agriculture, intelligent manufacturing, and sustainable energy, alongside its development as a regional medical hub and promotion of family offices to strengthen its position in Asia’s wealth management sector.
Frankie emphasised that Malaysia’s investment appeal is underpinned by supportive policies, strategic geography, and a diversified economy.
Sabah, with its abundant natural resources and unique location, serves as a gateway connecting Asean and the Asia-Pacific region.
He also highlighted Malaysia’s role under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), citing opportunities for electronics, automotive, and food industries, as well as industrial chain integration.
The Sabah China Chamber of Commerce delegation, which attended the event alongside Frankie, included Deputy President Brett Chua, Vice President Chiew Heng Hock, and committee members Douglas Fong, Ling Hang Tze, Leo Liew, and Cyndi Liu.
Frankie said the Chamber looks forward to deepening cooperation with global enterprises in technology investment, supply chain collaboration, capital deployment, and market expansion to unlock Sabah’s full potential.
