Epic OG, Begas Energy enter deal for Sabah terminal project
Kota Kinabalu: Eastern Pacific Industrial Corporation Bhd (EPIC), a company linked to the Terengganu government, has established a strategic partnership with Begas Energy Sdn Bhd, based in Sabah, through its subsidiary, EPIC OG Sdn Bhd.

EPIC announced in a statement that the partnership is set to provide project management services related to the Terminal Turnaround, Maintenance, and Modification (TTAMM) contracts in Sabah.

The agreement, signed at a ceremony here, further strengthens EPIC’s position in the downstream and terminal services segment, particularly in East Malaysia.

Under the collaboration, EPIC OG will jointly undertake project management, covering technical advisory services for planned shutdown works, routine and preventive maintenance, as well as terminal modifications.

In the signing ceremony, EPIC OG was represented by EPIC Bhd group chief executive officer Dr Muhtar Suhaili and EPIC Bhd general manager for energies Mohamad Irwan Abdul.

Begas Energy was represented by its managing director Mohd Safian Saludin, and operations manager Shahlan Rusian. The exchange of documents was witnessed by EPIC OG chairman Datuk Che Mohamad Zulkifly Jusoh, alongside other board members.

Muhtar said the strategic collaboration reflects the group’s continued commitment to delivering integrated solutions across the entire oil and gas value chain.

“This strategic partnership strengthens the company’s project management capabilities in executing complex scheduled shutdown and maintenance scopes.

“Through this collaboration, we reaffirm our commitment to operational excellence, disciplined execution and uncompromising adherence to safety standards in supporting critical energy infrastructure,” he said.

Mukhtar highlighted that the combination of EPIC OG’s expertise in project management and integrated oil and gas support services with Begas Energy’s operational capabilities is expected to ensure structured, efficient and high-quality implementation of the TTAMM contract.

Besides ensuring effective project delivery, the collaboration also supports EPIC’s long-term strategy to expand its involvement in terminal operations and maintenance services.

At the same time, the initiative is expected to contribute to the sustainability and resilience of Sabah’s energy sector and the national oil and gas industry as a whole.
