Kota Kinabalu: Two undocumented Filipinos were charged in the Magistrate’s Court here with drug trafficking.
Jepri Johan, 24, who was brought before Magistrate Marilyn Kelvin is accused of trafficking 106.19gm of syabu on Dec 3, at 1.30pm, near a house at house in a water village of Kg Lokub, Manggatal.
Najib Ibrahim, 20, who appeared before Magistrate Wan Farrah Farriza Wan Ghazali, allegedly trafficked 68.44gm of syabu, at Dec 3, at 1.30pm, in a house at a water village of Kg Lokub, Manggatal.
No plea was recorded from them after the charges against them were read out to them, respectively.
They were separately charged under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries a punishment of either the death penalty or life in prison and whipping with a minimum of 15 strokes.
Marilyn fixed March 3, 2026 for mention of Jepri’s case while Najib’s case was set for mention on Feb, 23 next year pending the chemist’s reports.
Both Jepri and Najib were ordered to be remanded pending the dates as the charge against them has no provision for bail.
Deputy Public Prosecuror Arfa Anchal Khan and Inspector Yusdi Basri prosecuted.
