Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Economic Development Corporation (Sedco) is taking steps to complete its long-delayed Small and Medium Industrial Park Project, a key initiative aimed at supporting local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Sabah.
The project, first approved in 2016, had faced financial and technical hurdles that stalled construction.
Sedco officials, led by Group General Manager Datuk Ar. James Wong, have conducted emergency coordination meetings and site visits to accelerate progress.
Sedco said the 44-unit industrial park, comprising terrace, semi-detached and detached factory lots, is now on track for completion in early 2026, with the Occupational Certificate expected by mid-2026.
The park is intended to create jobs and support local economic activity, and Sedco is inviting Sabah-based manufacturers and Bumiputra entrepreneurs to register interest as tenants.
Entrepreneurs, industry players, and investors who are interested are encouraged to register their interest with Sedco as the project progresses toward its final implementation stage.

“The renewed progress reflects broader state government efforts to resolve legacy projects and implement practical, results-driven governance.
“The appointment of experienced professionals from the private sector with strong corporate backgrounds have enabled a more pragmatic and solution-oriented approach in delivering Government projects.
“This approach is aligned with the State Government’s emphasis on practical governance and results-driven leadership,” Sedco said in a statement.
The industrial park is strategically located near the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP), enhancing its appeal to investors and SMEs.
