KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Oil & Gas Development Corporation (SOGDC) and Sedco Mining Sdn Bhd signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen industrial development cooperation in Sabah, particularly at the Sipitang Oil and Gas Industrial Park (Sogip) and Sawit Kinabalu Sandakan Industrial Park (SKSIP).
Ewon Benedick said the collaboration will improve coordination between state agencies, accelerate project implementation and attract more industrial investment.

He noted that initiatives such as land reclamation at Sogip and deepening shipping access at SKSIP could expand industrial areas, allow larger vessels to dock and strengthen Sabah’s position as a regional industrial and trading hub.
Ewon said the state aims to develop a complete industrial value chain to maximise natural resources, while creating business opportunities and quality jobs for Sabahans.
Also present were Sedco Mining chairman Chua Ming Ling, SOGDC chairman Shahelmey Yahya, Sawit Kinabalu Sdn Bhd chairman Hazem Mubarak Tun Musa and CEO Victor Ationg.
