Kota Kinabalu: A convenience shop supervisor was acquitted by the High Court here of trafficking 1,005.5grammes of syabu.
Judge Datuk Celestina Stuel Galid on Friday discharged and acquitted 27-year-old Rosman at the close of the prosecution’s case, ruling that they had failed to establish a prima facie case.

The court noted doubts in the prosecution’s evidence, particularly regarding the existence of an Agent Provocateur.
Rosman was accused of trafficking the drugs at 10.45am on Jan 25, 2023, beside Block 3T of Universiti Utama Condominium (UUC), Jalan Kayu Madang.
Under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act (DDA) 1952, the charge carries a punishment of death or life imprisonment and whipping with a minimum of 15 strokes if convicted.
The trial began on Sept 29 and the prosecution closed its case on Oct 1 after calling five witnesses. Rosman, who had been in remand since his arrest, thanked his lawyer Dominic Chew Ban Huat after the proceedings.
