KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Government will spend RM154.3 million in 2026 to develop tourism, preserve cultural heritage, and support creative industries.
Under the 13th Malaysia Plan, RM50 million will upgrade tourism infrastructure, RM35 million will fund cultural programmes and heritage preservation, and RM25 million will support creative arts, handicrafts, music, and film.

An additional RM20 million is earmarked for marketing campaigns, RM12 million for community training in tourism and creative skills, and RM8.3 million for eco-tourism and sustainable travel initiatives.
The budget aims to drive economic growth, empower local communities, and promote Sabah’s cultural identity.
