Kota Kinabalu: Sabah DAP Socialist Youth (Dapsy) Chief Chan Loong Wei has lodged a report over a fake letter circulating on social media suggesting that Sabah DAP Chairman Phoong Jin Zhe requested State Government appointments.
Chan said a document purporting to be a letter has been widely shared online, falsely suggesting that Phoong had written to the Chief Minister to recommend party members for government appointments.

He said the document appears to have been photographed from a computer screen and dated Dec 5, but bears no signature, official stamp or party letterhead, clearly indicating that it is neither genuine nor official.
“Sabah DAP held a meeting on the night of Dec 7, during which the party once again reaffirmed its decision not to join the Sabah Government, a stance that was unanimously agreed upon by the state leadership,” he said in a statement, Tuesday.
Chan said Sabah DAP would continue to return to the grassroots, serve the people through consistent community work and rebuild public trust step by step.
He urged the public not to circulate unverified documents, saying Phoong had already taken political responsibility immediately after the election and that he has not been appointed to any position.
