SANDAKAN: The road and parking area at Lorong A, Rancangan Rumah Murah Kampung Sim-Sim were flooded following a high tide Friday night.
A survey indicated that the water likely rose from a nearby drain, coinciding with heavy rainfall.
The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) reported that water on the road reached ankle height, but residents’ homes were not affected and the situation remained under control.
APM Sandakan personnel also monitored Kg. Bokara, Kg. Air, and other water-village areas. Several houses and bridges were affected, but the situation remained managed.
High tide occurrences are expected to continue until December 8, during the night and early morning hours.
