TUARAN: Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau has pledged to upgrade Tamparuli to full district status.
The Tuaran Member of Parliament cum Upko candidate who won the Tamparuli seat, said the area had remained a sub-district for 48 years and the upgrade is long overdue.
“When upgraded, the district administration system will be reorganised to plan development at village, mukim and district levels,” he said, pointing out that this was part of his manifesto.
Madius said the reorganisation would translate Federal and State policies into programmes and projects eligible for government funding.
