Kota Kinabalu: Glamour met the ocean last Friday as the 2025 Miss Scuba International Grand Finale crowned Anna Dvorakova of the Czech Republic as its new queen at Hakka Hall.
The 34-year-old scuba instructor and technical-sales executive topped 21 contestants to clinch the coveted title.
Kimber Lynn Collins, 30, an American conservation journalist, emerged first runner-up while also sweeping two special awards — Miss Marine Conservation and Miss Congeniality.
Costa Rica’s Anumi Sassaroli Oriana, 22, placed second runner-up, earning praise for her background in underwater archaeology.
Standing 173cm tall, Dvorakova said her work had given her “a gateway to the ocean,” adding: “Whether you live inland or on the coast, anyone can become an ambassador for the sea.”
Special awards added sparkle to the evening: Best National Costume Lin Lok-Yi (Hong Kong), Miss Photogenic Bening Fajriani (Indonesia) and Best Talent Arushi Chawla (India)
This year’s theme, Blue Economy — an ocean of opportunity, highlighted the role of women in sustainability.
Founder Datuk Robert Lo said showcasing women’s strengths helps drive healthier oceans, resilient communities and inclusive approaches to sustainability.
Past titleholders returned to inspire contestants, while Sabah Tourism Board CEO Julinus Jeffery Jimit showcased Sabah’s natural beauty and ongoing efforts to grow a sustainable blue economy through live and video segments.
With dazzling performances, radiant contestants and a strong call for ocean conservation, Miss Scuba International 2025 proved once again that glamour and purpose can go hand in hand.
