Man pleads not guilty to property misappropriation
All three charges are framed under Section 403 of the Penal Code, which carries six months to five years’ imprisonment, whipping, and a fine, on conviction.
Kota Kinabalu: A 35-year-old man was charged in the Magistrate’s Court with three counts of misappropriation of property involving a total of RM8,800.

Wilson Ang pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Dzul Elmy Yunus to all three charges.

On the first charge, Ang is accused of dishonestly converting RM6,000 belonging to one Alvin Liew for his own use at 6.19pm on Jan 30, 2023 at Taman Foh Sang, Luyang.

For the second charge, he allegedly converted another RM1,800 belonging to the same victim at 6.20pm on the same day and place.

For the third charge, he is accused of similarly converting RM1,000 belonging to the same man at 7.02pm on Jan 31, 2023 at Dah Yeh Villa, Luyang.

All three charges are framed under Section 403 of the Penal Code, which carries six months to five years’ imprisonment, whipping, and a fine, on conviction.

The court set Jan 21, next year for pre-trial case management (ptcm) and released the accused, who was represented by counsel Lim Chun Yuan, on a bail of RM3,000 in two sureties.

Meanwhile, two men claimed trial in the same court to a charge of voluntarily causing hurt.

Ismael Bahaudin, 69, and Md Paizal, 32, were accused of jointly causing injury to one Chow Chee Phin using a cota (baton) on Sept 25, this year, at 12.13pm on the second floor in front of Familiar Superstore, Wisma Merdeka.

The offence, under Section 324 of the Penal Code read with Section 34, carries a penalty of up to 10 years’ jail, a fine, whipping, or any two of the punishments.

The court fixed Jan 21 for ptcm and offered each accused bail at RM3,000 in two sureties with a condition not to disturb with the alleged victim.
