KOTA KINABALU: Pakatan Harapan’s Tanjung Aru candidate Datuk Chan Foong Hin said voters in the constituency have made clear throughout the two-week campaign that they want continuity in development and a stable path forward for Sabah.
He said residents repeatedly expressed that political stability is the foundation of progress, adding that this sense of responsibility towards future generations has shaped the mood on the ground in Tanjung Aru.
Chan said his experience as a Federal Deputy Minister and MP places him in a position to offer more organised development and better public service, especially after hearing concerns that past representatives had struggled to meet expectations.
He stressed that no single party is in a position to form the Sabah Government alone, making close cooperation with the Federal Madani administration essential to secure consistent development for all Sabahans.
According to him, the breadth of support he received from national and state leaders during the campaign reflected a broader confidence that Tanjung Aru will play a decisive role in shaping Sabah’s future.
“From Harapan, the Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Amanah President Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu and DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke came forward with unwavering support,” he said in the statement.
He said Barisan Nasional’s presence on the campaign trail, including BN Secretary-General Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir and UMNO Vice-President Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, further strengthened the shared commitment to a unified approach.
Chan added that GRS Deputy Secretary-General Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali also campaigned alongside the coalition, underscoring that the collaboration is grounded in shared aspirations rather than political convenience.
He said the “Grand Unity” partnership among PH, BN and PGRS has become a disciplined and effective force, proving during this election that “1 + 1 + 1” represents a stronger and more stable option for Sabah.
“I am confident that Tanjung Aru has shown the way forward, and this can be the turning point towards a stable, inclusive and prosperous Sabah,” he said, concluding with a call to “Kasi Chan” to continue delivering development and safeguarding people’s welfare.
