PH open to working with any party to form Sabah Govt: PM
PUTATAN: Pakatan Harapan (PH) is open to cooperating with all parties to form the State Government after the 17th Sabah State Election to ensure continued development in Sabah, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (pic).

Speaking at the '’Harapan Urang Sabah'’ carnival in Putatan today, Anwar, who is also PH chairman, said cooperation between the federal and state governments is necessary to advance Sabah.

He added that since PH is contesting only a limited number of seats, the coalition is prepared to work with any party.

Meanwhile, Anwar said he attended a programme with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor earlier today to assist the party in winning this election.

“I went to meet Hajiji this morning because I have experience working with him. I have met him dozens of times and he never asked for projects for himself or requested shares.

“Hajiji asks for additional projects for the people of Sabah. That is why I have a good working relationship with him… so I hope we can continue cooperating because the Sabah government needs PH.

“Therefore, I also want the people in Putatan to help elect the PH candidate for the Petagas state constituency, Datuk Awang Husaini Sahari,” he added.

The Prime Minister said his visit to Sabah was not to make new promises, but to explain initiatives that the federal government has implemented or is currently implementing in the state.

Anwar said he wants the people of Sabah to understand the federal government’s initiatives, including resolving issues with water and electricity, the Pan Borneo Highway, and matters related to the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).

“These (initiatives) are not promises; they have already been implemented. This is why I say we must know the facts,” he said.

PH is contesting 22 of the 73 seats up for grabs. Polling is on Saturday.
