“The rain caused flooding in the areas, but the situation is still under control,” she said.
No Temporary Evacuation Centres (PPS) have been opened, but APM teams are monitoring the situation closely.
Villages on alert include Kampung Bantayan Tamparuli, Kampung Bakut, Kampung Gayang, Kampung Timbok and Kampung Pasal Berungis.
Meanwhile, 11 roads were affected by flooding, fallen trees and landslides, comprising Jalan Kampung Lentuong, Jalan Rambai Mangkaladoi, Jalan Sulaman, Jalan Lama Tuaran, Jalan Kompleks JKR, Jalan Taman Rugading, Jalan Kauluan Bukit Giling, Jalan Bantayan and Jalan Malinsau Sambah.
“All the roads are passable except Jalan Lama Tamparuli LLC and Jalan Perumahan Kionsom, which remain closed,” Nur Azierah said.
She urged motorists to exercise caution due to fallen trees.
In MATUNGGONG, APM personnel are closely monitoring flood-prone areas in several villages following continuous rain since dawn.
According to APM, low-lying areas have begun to experience rising waters.
Monitoring began at 8.50am in Kampung Tinutudan, Kandawayon and Kampung Ondou, where river waters have overflowed into residential areas and main access roads to the villages.
Water levels were reported to reach ankle-high.
Local residents are advised to stay alert and be prepared to move to nearby Temporary Evacuation Centres (PPS) should the rain persist and conditions become unsafe.
