KOTA KINABALU: A class teacher told the Coroner’s Court that he could identify Zara Qairina Mahathir’s handwriting with complete certainty after teaching her for three months.
Mohamad Zabidi Husain said he recognised the writing in photos of Zara’s diaries, noting that her letter “J” resembled a fish hook.
He said he had never seen the diaries before the inquest and was unaware that their contents were circulated among teachers at SMKA Tun Datu Mustapha.
Zabidi testified that Zara appeared cheerful and showed no signs of distress during his last lesson with her on 10 July, apart from reprimanding her for chatting with classmates.
He said he received no disciplinary complaints about Zara, adding that no bullying cases were reported in her class during his tenure.
