TAWAU: Pakatan Harapan secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution warned that Sabah risks strained ties with the Federal Government if the Chief Minister’s political stance is not aligned with the Prime Minister.

He told supporters in Merotai on Monday night that Sabah needs a Chief Minister capable of maintaining close cooperation with Putrajaya to protect the state’s interests.

Saifuddin said the federal administration handles essential matters for Sabah—from salaries of key frontline services to hospital construction and disaster funding—highlighting the importance of stable relations.

He urged Merotai voters to back PH candidate Datuk Ruji Ubi, calling him a strong asset with extensive experience managing national budgets, schools, and large groups of civil servants.
