TAWAU: Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) information chief Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan (

He said claims that Putrajaya controlled state decisions were unfounded, noting that Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and the State Government shaped their own policies throughout GRS’s tenure.
Speaking after meeting supporters at the Apas district polling centre on Sunday, the GRS candidate dismissed such allegations as election-season talk from parties contesting all 73 seats alone.
Nizam said GRS prioritised cooperation with the Federal Government to secure development for Sabah, citing upgrades to Tawau Airport and new housing under the Residensi Rakyat Programme.
He added that maintaining stable ties with Putrajaya was essential for progress and warned against political narratives that could strain federal–state relations or undermine Sabah’s unity.
