Pakatan Harapan Api Api candidate’s plans for seniors

Kota Kinabalu: The Pakatan Harapan candidate for Api-Api said it is vital for everyone not to forget the contributions made by senior citizens in our respective communities and society in general.

Campaigning on a platform that emphasizes honoring and supporting the area’s senior citizens, recognizing their vital contributions to the community.

Thonny Chee, founder of the Thonny Chee Initiative (TCI), is urging the community not to overlook the sacrifices and services made by senior citizens in Api-Api.

“Our elderly are the backbone of our families and have significantly contributed to the development of Api-Api and Sabah. They deserve our care and attention in their senior years,”stressed.

To address these needs, Thonny proposed several community-based initiatives:
  • Free health screening programs: To ensure the well-being of senior citizens.
  • Special transportation services: To improve their mobility and access to essential services.
  • Friendly neighborhood support groups: To combat loneliness and provide social interaction.
  • Assistance program for small entrepreneurship: To support those who wish to remain active and engaged.

Thonny also highlighted the importance of involving young people through volunteering programs, fostering intergenerational connections.

“Younger generations can learn valuable lessons and wisdom from our senior citizens, strengthening our community bonds,” he explained.
