Anil said his 100-day manifesto also includes the distribution of 1,500 food baskets to households across designated villages.
KUNAK: Barisan Nasional’s (BN) candidate for the Kunak seat, Dato’ Sri Anil Sandhu said under his 100-day initiative every school in Kunak would receive financial assistance to support their Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) funds and help schools run their activities.

“We will provide allocations for PIBG funds in all schools, including primary and secondary. Each primary school will receive RM20,000 annually, while each secondary school will receive RM50,000,” he said.

There are 14 primary schools and three secondary schools in Kunak that would benefit from the allocation.

Anil, who is also the Lahad Datu Umno Youth Chief, said his 100-day manifesto also includes the distribution of 1,500 food baskets to households across designated villages.

Kota Kinabalu: KOTA KINABALU: Fiesta Mega Raya (FMR) 2026 is set to be the largest and most prestigious Hari Raya celebration in Sabah, taking place from March 7 to 18, at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), here.
“There will also be special assistance for newly married couples and support for families welcoming their first child. All these will be carried out if I am given the mandate and win the election here,” he told reporters during a community engagement session with traders at the Kunak Night Market near Boheyan Plaza on Friday.

He said BN Kunak has also prepared a set of five-year long-term pledges, which will be announced soon.

Throughout the one-week campaign period since nomination day, Anil said he has met residents in various areas, and many have raised concerns about unresolved basic infrastructure issues such as clean water supply, electricity and damaged village roads.

He said that since 2018, many projects expected to be developed have still not materialised, even though land or designated sites had already been prepared by the government.

“Many government land plots in Kunak, already identified for development, remain idle. The infrastructure that should have been built has still not been implemented.

“We hope the next government can be formed with stability so these development plans can finally move forward,” he said.

Anil said younger voters in Kunak, in particular, have shown they want leaders with principles and loyalty to drive the constituency forward and ensure it does not fall behind again.

He also acknowledged being targeted by personal attacks during the campaign period, with several allegations circulating on social media.

“I refer to the accusations and slander being spread about me, claiming that I use the title Dato’ Sri fraudulently and that my academic qualifications are not legitimate.

“I want to stress that all titles and qualifications I hold are valid, recognised and supported by official records. These allegations are untrue and made with malicious intent to tarnish my reputation as BN’s candidate for Kunak.

“I regret that the culture of political slander has resurfaced as a weapon by those afraid of fair competition. They know Kunak voters are becoming more discerning and evaluate candidates based on performance and capability, not fabricated stories.

“My focus now is on the election campaign and ensuring the people of Kunak are protected, not entertaining narratives spread by certain parties who are running out of ideas and issues,” he said.
