Question, from all digital platforms after concerns were raised over the group’s appearance in the production, the
New Straits Times reported.
The decision followed comments by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department for Religious Affairs, Datuk Mohd Na’im Mokhtar, who reminded artistes to be mindful of the cultural and religious sensitivities of a diverse society.
Universal Music Malaysia managing director Kim Lim said the company reviewed the entire production and took community feedback into account before opting to withdraw the video.
She said the company values local norms and accepts responsibility for any missteps, adding that future creative work will undergo stricter internal reviews and professional consultations.
The move came as the group’s appearance in the music video
Question drew strong reactions, including criticism from celebrity preacher Asma’ Harun, who claimed their styling was inappropriate and disrespectful to Muslim women.
