Kota Kinabalu: A stable, non-confrontational relationship between Sabah and the federal government is crucial for the state to reclaim its 40 percent revenue entitlement, says Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) Darau candidate Datuk Mohamed Razali Razi.
He said slogans like “Sabah for Sabahans” tend to resurface during election periods, but voters should judge leaders by their record, not rhetoric.
“We’re not denying our rights. MA63 has always been there. But at the same time, we’re Malaysians. Confrontation won’t get us anywhere — we need cordial engagement with the federal government,” he told reporters after the Darau Youth Wing convoy programme in Kampung Likas on Friday.
The Gagasan Rakyat secretary-general questioned leaders who now champion Sabah rights despite having previously held senior federal positions.
