ANY member of Gagasan Rakyat or Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) who contests as an independent candidate will be expelled, warned GRS Chairman and Sabah Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
“I am confident that GRS and Pakatan Harapan (PH) will secure a strong mandate to form the government after the 17th Sabah elections.
“The outcome is clear, I believe GRS and PH will form the government,” he said, after submitting his nomination papers at the Nomination Centre (PPC), Dewan Seri Sulaman, Saturday.
Hajiji, who is also President of Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) and the incumbent of Sulaman constituency, arrived at the nomination centre at 9am, accompanied by GRS leaders and thousands of supporters.
Also present were incumbents Datuk Jasnih Daya (Pantai Dalit), Datuk Joniston Bangkuai (Kiulu), and Dr Bonaventure Boniface, a new candidate for Tamparuli.
Commenting on Sulaman, Hajiji expressed confidence that GRS would secure a large victory in the area.
“We already know the candidates contesting in Sulaman. This is democracy, anyone can contest.
“But I am very confident that the GRS candidate will win with a significant majority,” he said.
