PENAMPANG: United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko) President Datuk Ewon Benedick announced it will contest 25 seats in the 17th Sabah State Election.Ewon will defend Kadamaian seat.
The other candidates are Deputy President Donald Peter Mojuntin (Moyog), Junsim Rumunzing (Bengkoka), Suzie Salapan (Bandau), Jamil M Zakariah @ Majingkin (Tandek), Madius Tangau (Tamparuli), Joisin Romut (Kiulu), Wong Thien Fook (Inanam), Dennison R Indang (Tanjung Aru), Lee Nyuk Soon @ Jason Lee (Petagas), Rosday Wasli (Tanjung Keramat), Billy Joe Dominic (Kapayan), Nelson W Angang (Limbahau);
Rowindy Lawrence Odong (Membakut), Rogers Tiam @ Aloysius (Kundasang), Georgina L George (Karanaan), Kennedy Jie John @ Kenn (Bingkor), Wilson Gan Poi Tze (Liawan), Junik Bajit (Melalap), Mohd Khairil Abdullah (Tulid), Junilin @ Jubilin Bin Kilan (Nabawan), Felix Joseph Saang (Telupid), Norfadzlina Ramsah (Labuk), Peter Jr Naintin (Gum-Gum) and Mohina Sidom @ Mohina Ronnie Sidom (Kuamut).
“I will lead the Upko candidates in advocating for our manifesto and the ‘Sabah First’ agenda, as outlined in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 and the rights of Sabah in the Federal Constitution,” he said.
He added he will lead these candidates in fighting for the implementation of the 40pc Sabah revenue entitlement.
“With the return of these revenues, we can use them to develop infrastructure and amenities, boost the economy and entrepreneurship, eradicate poverty and improve the well-being of the people of Sabah more effectively,” he said.
Ewon urged voters to support the #SabahFirst agenda as the party’s core cause in this election.
“Myself and all Upko candidates are seeking the support of the entire people of Sabah,” he said.
