TUARAN: Caretaker Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor warned that the government’s development agenda could be derailed if the opposition returns to power after the 17th Sabah Election on Nov 29.
He said the concern stemmed from the previous Warisan administration’s decisions in 2018, which he claimed included ending water concessions that cost the state more than RM315 million and disrupted supply stability.
Hajiji also criticised the leadership of former cabinet members who he said attempted a power grab but showed poor commitment during their time in government.
He highlighted what he described as the progress achieved under Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) in areas such as the economy, investment, education and social welfare, urging voters to give the coalition a renewed mandate to continue these efforts.
Hajiji, who is defending the Sulaman seat, said he hoped to see GRS through the next five years to complete ongoing development under the Sabah Maju Jaya roadmap before passing the reins to a successor.
He said this at the closing of the Tuaran Parliamentary UPPM Sports and Family Day at Dewan Seri Sulaman on Thursday.
