KOTA KINABALU: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) will contest 55 state seats in the upcoming 17th State Election, announced its chairman and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor at the coalition’s candidate unveiling ceremony at the Sabah International Convention Centre on Wednesday.
He said the candidates comprise a mix of seasoned leaders and new faces, with 35 per cent being first-timers, and urged party supporters to unite behind the coalition’s campaign efforts.
Hajiji added that four remaining constituencies will be revealed tomorrow, stressing that GRS remains focused on contesting all 55 seats as one united front regardless of party background.
He highlighted the State Government’s efforts over the past five years to strengthen Sabah’s economy, including industrial expansion, infrastructure upgrades, welfare initiatives and education investments for more than 480,000 children.
Hajiji called on the people to rally behind GRS, saying the coalition’s candidates are ready to serve the people and continue leading Sabah towards progress and stability.
