SIPITANG: The East Zone women’s team and North Zone men’s team emerged as champions at the Inter-Zone Volleyball Championship during the Sabah Education Services Cultural Sports Festival (PSKPPS) held at the Sipitang District Council hall on Saturday.

In the women’s category, the South Zone team finished second while the West Zone claimed third place. For the men’s division, the East Zone secured the runners-up position.

Four zones participated in the championship, which aimed to uncover new talent and select players to represent Sipitang in the State-level PSKPPS competition.

The medal presentations were conducted by Technical Officer cum Sports Development Officer (PTPS) for Volleyball Pauline Anthony Sigar and PTPS Volleyball Officer Jimmy Udan, representing District Education Officer Zulkifle Kassim.

Pauline said the State-level PSKPPS, originally scheduled to take place in Beaufort from Nov 12-16, has been postponed until after the 17th State election.
