TAWAU: Police arrested a 35-year-old foreign man armed with a
pisau badik after he allegedly threatened to harm a woman in Kampung Serudong Laut on Wednesday.
District police chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the arrest followed a report lodged by the victim, who was acquainted with the suspect, after the man entered her house without permission and became aggressive.
The suspect had initially approached the woman’s house asking for food, but turned angry when her child reprimanded him for entering the home uninvited.
He then allegedly uttered threats to injure the woman and her child, prompting her to seek police assistance due to fear for her family’s safety.
Police later detained the suspect at an oil palm plantation and seized the dagger, with investigations ongoing under Section 506 of the Penal Code and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
