KOTA KINABALU: A weak earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale struck Kalimantan at 6.37pm on Wednesday, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
The quake, with its epicentre located 227km south of Sapulut, Sabah, occurred at a depth of 10km at coordinates 2.7° North and 116.6° East.
Tremors may have been felt in southern parts of Sabah, and MetMalaysia said it will continue monitoring the situation closely.
