KOTA KINABALU: The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) has declared full support for GRS secretary-general Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun’s call for unity, discipline and mutual respect in upcoming seat negotiations.
LDP president Datuk Chin Su Phin said the reminder was “timely and necessary”, stressing that seat discussions must be based on grassroots strength and winning potential.
“The key issue is not how many seats one demands, but whether a party has realistic chances of winning.
“Contesting in areas without support will only split votes and benefit the opposition," he said.
Chin added that coalition partners must show maturity and teamwork under Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor’s leadership.
“We are one team. The people expect solidarity, not internal competition,” he said.
LDP reiterated that GRS must remain united and credible as it prepares for the state election.
