LABUAN: Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) has been reduced to a one-man army led by a “general” who at 76 may be fighting his last battle in the imminent Sabah election, says political activist Lau Seng Kiat.
“The spontaneous decision of the five incumbent YBs was a vote of no-confidence in Star’s political direction,” Lau said.
The five who decided to stay put with GRS were Star deputy president Datuk Ellron Angin, Datuk Abidin Madingkir (Paginatan), Datuk Annuar Ayub Aman (Liawan), Flovia Ng (Tulid) and Bingkor’s Robert Tawik.
He said the party led by President Datuk Seri Jeffrey Kitingan was seen as a rising star when it captured six State Assembly seats in the last outing, almost rivalling the seven of Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS).
