SIPITANG: The Sipitang District Council (MDS) football team emerged champions after defeating the Orang Ulu team in the final of the Sipitang 10-Corner Indoor Football Championship at the MDS Field on Saturday.
Both teams displayed aggressive play despite a muddy pitch, with the match ending 1–1 before MDS triumphed 3–0 in a penalty shootout.
MDS took home RM2,000, while Orang Ulu received RM1,000 as runners-up. NC FT and PYC shared third place with RM500 each.
MDS players also bagged the top scorer and best goalkeeper awards. Orang Ulu won best player, and NC FT was named best team.
The tournament, organised by Belia PD TopTen with sponsorship from Datuk Yamani Hafez Musa (DYHM), featured 10 teams, including Liwa-Liwa, KBS, Rebuild, Orang Ulu, MPIB, MDS, NC FT, Seven Stone, PYC and M16.
DYHM attended the final and presented the prizes.
Also present were Organising chairman Affendy Allyssando and members of the organising committee.
