Tuaran: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said that Parents-Teachers Associations (PIBGs) play a crucial role in shaping students’ success and strengthening the future of education in Sabah.
Hajiji said PIBGs serve not only as a bridge between schools and parents, but also contribute significantly to school development.
“I was informed that more than 80 PIBGs in Tuaran are actively involved in various programmes, including building halls, suraus and organising community gotong-royong. Congratulations to all PIBGs,” he said.

The Chief Minister said the State Government recognises the importance of PIBGs, which is why support is extended through the Bantuan Aktiviti Guru dan Ibu Bapa Sabah (Bagus) with RM2,000 allocated for each school to implement planned activities.
He emphasised that education has been a top priority for the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) Government, with more than RM1.3 billion spent since 2021, the largest allocation in the State’s history.
“More than 14 educational initiatives have been introduced, including the highest scholarship allocation since independence, with RM136 million in 2025 alone, benefiting thousands of students at various levels,” Hajiji said.
He said that all these efforts are to ensure no child is left behind in education due to financial, geographical, or infrastructure constraints.
At the same time, Hajiji highlighted the State Government also prioritises the people’s welfare under the Sabah Maju Jaya initiatives, including providing free Rumah Mesra SMJ homes for the poor and hardcore poor, as well as the Sentuhan Kasih Rakyat (Syukur) monthly cash aid of RM300 for 12 months to 100,000 recipients.
“These achievements prove the Government’s commitment not only in education but also in economy, welfare, investment and State revenue management,” he said.
