Tuaran: A man wanted for involvement in several crime cases was arrested at a commercial centre in Tuaran on Thursday.
Tuaran District Police Chief Supt Noraidin Ag Maidin said videos taken by the public of the arrest went viral on social media.
He said a team of police from the Sabah Contingent Criminal Investigation Department managed to identify the vehicle driven by the suspect near Plaza CKS.
“The police raid team approached the suspect’s vehicle and found him in the driver’s seat.
The suspect swiftly reversed his vehicle and collided with the police car parked behind him. He rammed the police car multiple times in an attempt to escape.
“Subsequently, the police responded by breaking the window on the passenger side to carry out the arrest,” he said.
He said a struggle ensued between the police raid team and the suspect before arrest.
