SANDAKAN: Parti Impian Sabah has lodged a police report against several viral TikTok videos allegedly insulting Sabah’s ethnic groups, religions, and the historic Batu Sumpah Keningau.

Its president Michel Alok said five TikTok accounts were involved, uploading the controversial videos on Aug 29 and 30. He described the contents as “extreme” and could threaten Sabah’s long-standing racial and religious harmony.

“Sabah is known for its multiracial and multi-religious harmony, and we take this issue very seriously,” he said, urging the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and police to act immediately by removing the content and investigating the culprits.

“That is why we lodged this report, to urge MCMC and the police to immediately take down the materials uploaded on social media so that people in Sabah will no longer see such content. Our intention is not political,” he added.

Michel said the police report highlighted five key issues, including content allegedly insulting the KDMR community, Christianity, and sacred symbols such as the Batu Sumpah Keningau. One video, he said, even depicted a political leader on a cross — calling it “unacceptable and highly provocative.”

He also raised concerns that some individuals may be deliberately exploiting the names of political parties to inflame racial and religious tensions.

One of the accounts, using a name resembling “Parti Warisan”, has drawn widespread criticism online. Parti Warisan has denied any involvement with the videos and has also lodged a report.

Michel reminded Sabahans to be cautious about information circulating on social media and to verify the authenticity of content before reacting. He stressed that PIS is committed to safeguarding the state’s unity and harmony.
