TAMBUNAN: More than 800 people attended the Santai Bicara Maal Hijrah 1447H event at Dewan Pisompuruan Square, Tambunan, where Dato’ Ustaz Kazim Elias was the main speaker.
In his speech, Dato’ Ustaz Kazim highlighted that Maal Hijrah should mark a real change in mindset and behavior.

He described hijrah as moving away from harmful habits to better conduct, from ignorance toward understanding, and from carelessness to mindfulness.
He also pointed out the risks of false information spreading through social media. According to him, such misinformation can damage reputations, create division, and disrupt peace.
He urged everyone to think carefully before sharing or acting on information.
Furthermore, Dato’ Ustaz Kazim stressed the importance of treating followers of other religions with fairness and respect. He said Islam encourages just and respectful treatment of others and that good character is the true measure of faith.
The programme was organised by the Tambunan District Office with support from Sabah’s Islamic Affairs Department (Jheains) and the Sabah Islamic Religious Council (Muis). It aimed to promote understanding, responsibility, and unity within the local Muslim community.
