LABUAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim should be given “time and space” to implement Sabah’s overdue 40pc tax revenue entitlement and other rights under the Malaysia Agreement (MA63), said activist Lau Seng Kiat.
He said it cannot be denied that Sabah and Sarawak had benefitted the most from Anwar’s stewardship of the country than at any time under the previous Prime Ministers.
Hence, he said, it was premature of opposition Warisan Sabah to sow doubts that Anwar would fulfil his promise when he said that the Federal Government’s decision to appeal part of a court ruling would not mean rejecting the 40pc claim outright.
“Anwar had also explained in parliament the reason for the court action.
