TAWAU: About 200 passengers who arrived at Tawau Airport from Kuala Lumpur on Friday night will undergo a 14-day quarantine at various designated quarantine centres.District Health Officer Rahman Sampe said temperature checks were conducted on the passengers shortly after their arrival around 7.30pm before they were sent to the Institut Pendidikan Guru (IPG) Tawau for health screening and swab test for Covid-19.

“After that, the passengers from Tawau, Semporna and Kunak were sent to the quarantine centres in the respective districts,” he added.

He also said many family members, including from Semporna and Kunak, seemed to be waiting for the passengers at the airport since 6.30pm although only one representative from each family was allowed at the arrival hall.
