LABUAN: The Labuan Corporation Enforcement Department conducted its first Operation Banteras Aktiviti Haram (BAH) 2026, targeting business premises operating without valid licences across the Federal Territory of Labuan.
A spokesperson said the integrated operation involved 53 officers and personnel from several enforcement agencies, including the Labuan Corporation Licensing Department, the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (JAWI), the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), and the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN).

The operation covered several locations, namely Jalan Bunga Melati, Tang Kah Hwa, Jalan Ujong Pasir and Jalan OKK Awang Besar, where six business premises were inspected.
Authorities also seized business-related items identified during the operation as evidence for further investigation.
A total of two compounds were issued under the Trades Licensing Ordinance (Sabah Cap. 144) for offences related to operating without a valid business licence.
Authorities also suspected the presence of online gambling activities at the inspected premises.
The Labuan Corporation said it will continue to intensify enforcement and monitoring efforts to ensure all business operators comply with existing laws and regulations.
