LABUAN: More than 100 children aged between three and eight participated in the Rakan Litar – Push Bike Race held in conjunction with National Youth Day 2026 in the Federal Territory of Labuan from June 13 to 14.
The programme, organised by the Labuan Federal Territory Youth and Sports Department in collaboration with the Labuan Extreme Sports Association, brought together young participants from across the island in a lively and competitive environment.

The opening ceremony and prize presentation were officiated by Labuan Youth Council President Nazera Roslan on Sunday.
Nazera said the programme was aimed at encouraging children to take part in sports from an early age while promoting an active and healthy lifestyle within the community.
“The race was contested in three categories comprising children aged three to four, five to six, and seven to eight years old,” she said.
Throughout the event, participants demonstrated strong sportsmanship and enthusiasm while competing in their respective categories.
The competition also received strong support from parents and guardians, who turned out in large numbers to cheer on their children and contribute to the festive atmosphere.
Nazera said the encouraging response reflected growing interest among children in cycling-related sports activities.
She hoped similar programmes would continue in the future as a platform to develop sporting talent at the grassroots level.
The Rakan Litar programme has the potential to serve as an avenue for identifying and nurturing young cycling talents who could eventually compete at higher levels.
