SANDAKAN: Marine Police in collaboration with the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) Sandakan Branch busted a suspected illegal crude palm oil (CPO) transfer operation during a raid at Jalan Check Point Batu 32, on Friday.
PPM Region 4 Sabah Commander Ahmad Amri Abd Rahman said suspicious activity involving the transfer of crude palm oil from a tanker lorry into a three-tonne box truck was detected at 11.45am.

Further inspection found six Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBC) with a capacity of 1,000 litres, a pump engine, two drums and a hose believed to have been used in the activity.
Four men aged between 34 and 44, comprising two locals and two Indonesians, were arrested.
Also seized were a tanker lorry, a three-tonne box truck and approximately 39,980 kilogrammes of crude palm oil. The total value of the seizure was estimated at RM424,210.
The case is being investigated under Regulation 5(1)(d) of the Malaysian Palm Oil Board Licensing Regulations 2005.
Ahmad said that from January to May 2026, PPM Region 4 Sabah had recorded seven cases under the Malaysian Palm Oil Board Licensing Regulations 2005, involving total seizures valued at RM7,457,546 and 19 arrests.
He added that PPM will continue to intensify operations and monitoring efforts to curb illegal activities, smuggling and other offences involving the country’s strategic commodities in order to safeguard national security and economic interests.
